Nelvana/Spin Master
Children’s content producer and distributor Nelvana and kids entertainment company Spin Master have landed new international broadcast partners for Bakugan: Battle Planet (100 x 11 minutes) and Bakugan: Armored Alliance (104 x 11 minutes).
Bakugan: Battle Planet is headed to Televisa (Mexico), Dreamia (Portugal), Nelonen Media (Finland), Dexy Co (Serbia) and Talent Show (Croatia), meanwhile, Bakugan: Armored Alliance – which is the second season of Bakugan: Battle Planet – has secured distribution deals with Netflix (Canada/U.S.), POP (U.K.), 9Go! (Australia) and Dreamia (Portugal). The anime adventure series follows Dan Kouzo and his friends as they bond with mysterious alien creatures called Bakugan. New episodes of Bakugan: Armored Alliance air on Cartoon Network in the U.S. and Teletoon and YTV in Canada.
This spring, along with the new season, Spin Master launched Bakugan: Armored Alliance toys in North America. A new wave of products is expected to launch this fall in the U.S. and Canada. As well, Spin Master plans to roll out its Bakugan: Armored Alliance toy line internationally this fall.
Gusto Worldwide Media
DNA Dinners and Fresh Market Dinners, two shows from Canadian culinary content company Gusto Worldwide Media are now available on First Media’s So Yummy TV on cable and VOD.
Hosted by Tyrone Edwards, DNA Dinners (pictured) sees individuals learn more about their past through DNA analyst, celebrating their heritage through cooking. Fresh Market Dinners, in turn, sees host Amanda Herrera bring audiences to the farmers market, with Herrera making recipes using the fresh food she discovered that day. So Yummy TV is available on DirecTV, XUMO, Sling, Xfinity and more.
“Gusto TV is the perfect fit for So Yummy TV,” said Gusto Worldwide Media CEO and president Chris Knight in a statement. “Now more than ever we are reminded of the significance of food and cooking in our lives. It is a global theme, sharing a meal with your loved ones, one we far-to-often forget to prioritize.”
OUTtv
OUTtv has picked up Humdrum Comedy-produced Metro Sexual for broadcast and streaming across Canada.
The first Australian sitcom with an all LGBTIQ lead characters, according to a press release, the mockumentary-style show follows doctors Stephanie Huddleston (Geraldine Hickey) and Langdon Marsh (Riley Nottingham) at Metropolitan Sexual Health.
Metro Sexual has also been acquired by streaming service Crackle and is set to premiere in the U.S. on Sept. 1. The show will also debut on OUTtv’s Apple TV channel and streamer OUTtvGO on Sept. 1. Following this, it will be available on Prime Channels in Canada.
