Super Channel
Super Channel has acquired MGM Television and Skydance Television’s CIA thriller Condor. Produced in association with Paramount Television, the series is based on James Grady’s novel Six Days of the Condor and the screenplay “Three Days of the Condor” from Lorenzo Semple Jr. and David Rayfiel. Season one of Toronto-shot Condor follows a young CIA analyst (played by Max Irons), who discovers a plan that threatens the lives of millions. Super Channel Fuse will air season one of the show on April 2 at 9 p.m. Following Condor‘s linear broadcast, each episode will be available on Super Channel On Demand. The teleplay for Condor was created by Jason Smilovic, who serves as showrunner, and Todd Katzberg. Exec producers on the series include Smilovic, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Marcy Ross. Katzberg serves as a co-exec producer on the show. Condor is distributed internationally by MGM.
Blue Ant Media
Blue Ant International has added 19 titles to its catalogue ahead of MIPTV next month. All told, the distributor has acquired 11 factual series, including new seasons of shows such as See No Evil (pictured) and new series like My Worst Nightmare, four docuseries including BTK: A Killer Among Us, one-hour film Fred & Rose West: House of Horrors, and four nature series including Turtle Beach and Dogs with Extraordinary Jobs. The international distribution arm of Blue Ant Media will have more than 3,500 total hours of programming to showcase at MIPTV as a result of the acquisitions.
Gusto Worldwide
Dutch broadcaster RTL Nederland has picked up the rights to Gusto Worldwide’s Crate to Plate for the VOD service Videoland. The 4 x 30-minute docuseries shows the journey a single ingredient can take from the moment it’s harvested to when it lands on a plate, with a focus on the individuals – from farmers to cooks – who keep the process going. Corey Caplan, Gusto Worldwide’s senior director of international sales, says a second season will go into production later this year.
