Breakthrough Entertainment has expanded its international sales team to include former 108 Media director Aliy Brown.
As its newly appointed sales executive, Brown will manage markets in Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa. She will also handle acquisitions for Breakthrough’s film and TV properties.
Brown previously served as director of distribution and marketing at 108 Media Corp, where she handled domestic and international VOD sales and distribution. Before that she worked as director of broadcast and digital sales at Toronto’s Kaleidoscope Entertainment. In her new role, Brown will report to VP of distribution Craig McGillivray and president of distribution Nat Abraham.
This is Breakthrough’s first hiring announcement since co-founder Peter Williamson stepped down in late 2018 as part of a management buyout. Three months prior, the company sold its kids and family content library to 9 Story Media Group as it pivoted its production and development model to focus on other areas, including its factual and scripted TV slate and feature films.
