Blue Ant International has secured a number of key sales for projects on its documentary and lifestyle slate, including Lakehouse Luxury, Paranormal Survivor and Prisons (pictured). The company’s global distribution division announced the sales at NATPE Miami.
NBCUniversal acquired season one of Architect Films’ Lakefront Luxury (10 × 30 minutes) for its cable network Bravo TV in the U.S. The unscripted series, which airs on Cottage Life in Canada, tours high-end waterfront homes.
CBS Reality picked up Our House Media’s Paranormal Survivor (40 × 60 minutes) for channels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Blue Ant recently commissioned a fifth season for the series. The Travel Channel also picked up the fourth season for U.S. distribution, while Discovery acquired four seasons of the show for its channels in German-speaking Europe.
Meanwhile, Prisons (produced by U.K-based Spring Films) landed wide European distribution with acquisitions from Germany’s WELT, Norway’s TV2, Belgium’s VRT, Netherland’s RTL, and Denmark’s TV2. The docuseries, directed by Paddy Wivell and narrated by Liam Neeson, explores the realities of an English prison.
Discovery has also picked up the license to air UFOs: The Lost Evidence for channels in the U.K., the Middle East and North Africa, Asia-Pacific, Italy, Iberia, Poland and German-speaking Europe. The series, produced by Texas-based Megalomedia, shares evidence of UFO contact from real-life witnesses. In addition, The Weather Files, which premiered on Cottage Life in August 2018, has landed distribution with the U.K.’s Channel 5 and Viasat World in Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, and Scandinavia.
