Aetios Productions’ prison drama Unite 9 took home the award for best year-long drama at the Prix Gemeaux gala on Sept. 16, marking its second win in as many years.
Produced by Fabienne Larouche and Michel Trudeau, the series, which is now in its sixth season, follows women at a Quebec jail. Director Jean-Philippe Duval was awarded for his work on the series. He took home best direction in a year-long drama for “Episode 134.”
Meanwhile KOTV’s new sci-fi drama Plan B (pictured) took home the award for best dramatic series. Produced by Jaime Alberto Tobon, Jean-François Asselin, Alain Chicoine, Jacques Drolet, Louis-Philippe Drolet and Louis Morissette, the series follows a man who is offered a chance to return to the past. Director Jean-Francois Asselin took home the award for best direction in a dramatic series for Plan B‘s “Episode 6.”
Best comedy series was awarded to season two of Encore Television’s Lacher Prise (Let Go), which also picked up the award at last year’s event. Sebastien Gagne won the award for best direction in a comedy for his work on the episode “Butterflies.”
Best reality TV series went to Attraction Images’ Les Chefs, while best game show went to season eight of DATSIT Studios Quinze’s Genial! (Awesome!).
