Kew Media Distribution has inked a number of deals with Central and Eastern European (CEE) broadcasters for Canadian series, including Frankie Drake Mysteries and Bellevue.
In a pan-CEE deal, Viasat World has picked up pay TV rights to 21 hours of Frankie Drake Mysteries, including its upcoming second season. The CBC original is produced by Shaftesbury, in association with CBC and UKTV. Viasat has also acquired 100 Days to Victory, a documentary produced by Bristow Global Media and Australia’s Electric Pictures. The two-part special details the last 100 days of the First World War and will air later this year on Viasat History.
Also heading across the pond is Muse Entertainment and Back Alley Films’ Bellevue, which has been picked up by NC+ in Poland, while HRT in Croatia has taken season one of Frankie Drake Mysteries and Poland’s TVP has picked up Odyssey Television’s documentary special Harry & Meghan: A Very Modern Romance.
The deals were announced ahead of NATPE Budapest International this week, where Kew Media will shop Frankie Drake Mysteries, as well as new true crime series In Plain Sight (52 x 30 minutes). Produced by Frantic Films, the docuseries highlights real-life cases of murder where the culprit was interviewed by the press, posted in social media or showed face.
