Unis TV commissions raft of new series

Tele Ragout's Louis et La Faune Urbaine and Les Encanteurs are two unscripted series set to debut in the coming year.

TV5’s cross-Canada French-language channel Unis TV has commissioned a raft of new programming, including unscripted series Louis et La Faune Urbaine and a second season of docuseries Les Encanteurs (pictured). 

Produced by Télé Ragoût, the French arm of Toronto’s Keep it in the Family Productions, Louis (13 x 24 minutes) is produced by Claude Barnes and Tod Bovingdon. Set to premiere in September, the series follows Franco-Ontarian Louis LaRose across Ontario as he safely and humanely removes wildlife from people’s homes.

Télé Ragoût’s Les Encanteurs (13 x 24 minutes), meanwhile, follows the life of auctioneers Guy Bissonnette, Francois Giroux and Jean Marc Lacasse. Set to premiere in January 2019, the series is also produced by Barnes and Bovingdon. Both productions are currently filming in Ontario.

Unis TV has also commissioned four other new series. File d’attente (13 x 24 minutes), a dramatic comedy that follows stories of people waiting in line, is produced by Comediaha! It is currently filming in Quebec. Comedy series Newbies (10 x 26 minutes) takes place in Acadia where three friends dream of making a living through humor. It is produced by Productions Du Milieu and is currently filming in New Brunswick.

Meanwhile, youth magazine-style show Pas plus bête que nous (26 x 26 minutes) is produced by Pixcom and Un vrai selfie (10 x 26 minutes) is produced by Trio Orange.

The channel has also renewed Histoires de Chars (13 x 24 minutes, Joe Media Group) for a third season, Comment devenir adulte (13 x 26 minutes, Wookey Films) for season two, Balestra Productions’ Guides d’aventures (10 x 52 minutes) for a third season, Machine Gum’s Balade (10 x 26 minutes) for a fifth season, Far West Productions’ Sel et Diesel (10 x 26 minutes) for season two, Trio Orange’s Bizarroscope (13 x 26 minutes) for season three and Ouache! (20 x 12 minutes) from Sport Conception Audiovisuelle for season three.
