Cineflix Media has added to its executive team with the hire of Julien Leroux to the newly created role of SVP, global scripted coproductions.

Based in London, U.K., Leroux will lead the prodco’s scripted coproduction initiatives and work with Cineflix Rights’ CEO Chris Bonney to acquire scripted content for distribution on all platforms. He will report directly to Cineflix president Peter Emerson.

Prior to joining Cineflix, Leroux served as executive VP, content development and sales at the U.K. arm of France’s Newen Group.

Leroux previously held the position of deputy managing director, international sales, acquisitions and marketing, at Newen Group where he worked with companies like Netflix, Disney, BBC, Channel4, National Geographic and NBC.

The hire marks Cineflix’s latest exec appointment. In January, Cineflix added former Frantic Films exec Bernard Periatambee to oversee the development of original unscripted content for the prodco’s North American market at its Toronto office.
