Solange Attwood has been promoted to executive vice president, international at Blue Ant Media.
Previously SVP, international, Attwood will continue to oversee the strategic direction of Blue Ant Media’s international distribution arm.
She is charged with spearheading co-productions for the international sales group, pre-sales and worldwide sales activities, while overseeing the business’ ongoing expansion and sales offices in London (U.K.) and Toronto. She will continue to report to Michael MacMillan, CEO, Blue Ant Media.
Attwood joined Blue Ant four years ago, overseeing the launch and rollout of Blue Ant’s international distribution arm.
Previously, Attwood launched Si Enteratinment’s distribution arm. Prior to that, she worked at Tricon Films & Television as manager, international sales and acquisitions.
Attwood’s appointment comes at the heels of several pre-sale announcements from Blue Ant.
The company has sold Crazy Beautiful Weddings, a 10 x 30-minute Blue Ant Media original, to U.S.-based cable channel UP TV. The series, hosted by Lynzie Kent, is currently in production and is slated to be available by MIPTV. Elsewhere, Best Cake Wins (10 x 30), a lifestyle series created by Toronto-based Architect Films, has been pre-sold to BYUtv.
Blue Ant Media has shaken up its executive ranks in the past year. In November, it was announced that its CEO of Television and Digital Raja Khanna had stepped down after 10 years with the company. The move followed a restructure of the company’s content biz that saw Vanessa Case and Marcia Martin exit their respective roles as executive VP of content and senior VP of original content.
