Peacock Alley adds Christine Diakos in SVP role

The Toronto prodco behind Travelers has also promoted two from within its ranks.

Toronto’s Peacock Alley Entertainment has appointed Christine Diakos to the newly created position of SVP, Content.

Diakos joins Peacock from Toronto’s Big Coat Media, where she served as head of production and oversaw series such as Love It or List It. In this new role, Diakos will oversee development and production of all factual and lifestyle content.

Peacock Alley announced today that it has also upped two of its own to SVP roles. Michael Henry has been promoted from creative director to SVP, Creative, while Ryan Valentini moves from head of production to SVP, Production.

Company president Carrie Mudd said the expanded team will help the company be more aggressive in developing and packaging new content.

“We want to be more competitive and we need manpower in order to put more muscle behind both our scripted side and our non-scripted side,” Mudd told Playback Daily. “The bar [for content] is set so high and to compete we need more projects in development to get more into production,” she said.

Diakos had previously worked as an executive in charge of production at then-Shaw’s HGTV, Slice and Food networks, where she worked on Peacock shows including Money Moron.

Peacock Alley’s A User’s Guide to Cheating Death is set to premiere on Vision TV next month, with a second season already greenlit.  The company’s sci-fi scripted series Travelers is set to debut on Showcase on Oct. 16 and on Netflix following its Canadian release.
