Corus Entertainment’s History channel took advantage of marijuana’s highest holiday to begin production on its latest Canadian original docuseries, Bud Dynasty.
The seven-episode, 30-minute series, which explores Canada’s cannabis movement, businesses and major players, started filming in Vancouver at a 4/20 event yesterday. With the federal government set to legalize marijuana by July 2018, the specialty channel calls Bud Dynasty a history-in-the-making series.
Bud Dynasty is produced by Vancouver’s Screen Siren Pictures and Toronto-based Henry Less Ontario, in association with History. Executive producers on the series are Trish Dolman and Henry Less, with Dan Jackson serving as series producer and showrunner.
Broadcast details have yet to be announced.
