Endemol France has snagged the rights to remake the long-running dating format Double Occupancy.

Double Occupancy, which was created and produced by Montreal-based Productions J, is distributed by Media Ranch.

The dating show follows groups of single men and women living in neighbouring houses who meet up and go on adventures, including international trips. The contestants have the opportunity to win prizes, including a home.

The show was broadcast on Quebec’s TVA from 2003 to 2013, with an 11th season confirmed to air this October on Vtele.

The news comes at the heels of Media Ranch announcing plans to expand overseas with a new European office. The prodco appointed Tanja van der Goes to head up its Amsterdam locale.

Endemol France will be the first country to work on a foreign version of this Canadian format.
