Below Her Mouth inks raft of int’l deals

Netflix acquired the Serendipity Point Films feature in multiple territories, while the project also landed theatrical releases in the U.S., Japan and Germany.

Serendipity Point Films feature Below Her Mouth has secured a number of international sales, including a U.S. theatrical release and an international SVOD release through Netflix.

New York-headquartered Gunpowder & Sky Distribution picked up the U.S. theatrical rights and will release the film in theatres in April. As well, Weltkino Filmerleih GmbH  (Germany and Austria), Movie Cloud (Taiwan), Synca Creations (Japan), Njuta (Scandinavia) and NK Contents (South Korea) acquired the film on all-rights deals for their respective territories.

Netflix also acquired the SVOD rights to Below Her Mouth in the U.S., U.K., Australia, Israel, Italy, France, Spain and a number of other European territories.

Paris-based sales agent Elle Driver is handling international sales (excluding North America) on the project, which world premiered in the Special Presentations program at TIFF ’16.

Written by Stephanie Fabrizi, directed by April Mullen and produced by Melissa Coghlan, the film tells of a spontaneous encounter between two women (played by Canadian actress Natalie Krill and Swedish model Erika Linder) whose passionate connection changes both their lives.

In Canada, the film is distributed by Elevation Pictures, which released the film in theatres nationwide earlier this month. The Movie Network holds the pay TV rights to the film in Canada.
