BravoFACTUAL distributes $500K across 11 projects

Byron Hamel's If I Go Missing and Kathryn Martin's Hip Hop Speak are among the short documentaries to receive funding.

BravoFACTUAL has distributed just over $500,000 across 11 doc projects, including Byron Hamel’s If I Go Missing and Kathryn Martin’s Hip Hop Speak.

The fund, which made its selections from 65 submissions, also backed Brunch Queen, from director Steve Adams and producer Sean Horlor, Chaparral, from director Elizabeth Lazbnik and producer Anna Kharkhourin, and Double, from director Simon Paluck and producer Michelle Solomon.

In addition, BravoFACTUAL funded Charlie Tyrell and Julie Baldassi’s My Dead Dad’s Porno Tape, director/producer Jamie Miller’s Prince’s Tale, Andrew Wall and Kyle Bornais’ Otto’s Obsession, Mariam Zaidi and Vanmala Subramaniamm’s Over Time.

Stitchers, from director Tassie Notar and producer Gordon Henderson, and We Before Me, directed by Heidi Janz and produced by Eva Colmers also received funding.

The next submission deadline for BravoFACTUAL is Feb. 24, 2017.
