Love Nature and StarHub TV have inked a deal to bring the nature and wildlife channel to audiences in Singapore.
The HD channel will be made available to later this month to StarHub’s pay-TV customers, and will feature a slate of exclusive, original natural history content and family-friendly programming. Love Nature’s Singaporean library will include such series and documentaries as Wildlife Icons (pictured), Waterworld Africa and Land of Primates.
Love Nature is a joint venture between Blue Ant Media and Smithsonian Networks, which produces more than 200 hours of content annually. It launched in 32 countries earlier this year, and has since secured a partnership with Deadly Instincts producer Plimsoll Productions to develop 50-hour natural history project “Camp Zambia.”
Asian distributor Multi Channels Asia brokered the carriage deal with telecommunications operator StarHub, marking Love Nature’s entry into the Asian marketplace.
“The introduction of Love Nature to Singapore is an important milestone for us as we work aggressively to expand the brand’s offerings and stunning natural history content across Asia and all over the world,” said Jo Parkinson, managing director of Love Nature International, in a statement.
