Bell Media commissions Tragically Hip doc

The feature, produced by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, will roll out across the media co.'s platforms and in theatres in 2017.

Fans of the Tragically Hip looking to re-live the band’s historic tour are in luck.

Bell Media has commissioned Man Machine Poem (working title), a feature documentary that delivers a behind-the-scenes look at The Tragically Hip’s final, cross-Canada tour.

The documentary is produced by Banger Films’ Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, in association with Shed Creative, a division of Universal Music Canada. Jennifer Baichwal (Manufactured Landscapes) and Nicholas de Pencier (Black Code) direct.

The documentary special, produced in 4K, will premiere across Bell channels and platforms, including The Movie Network, MUCH and CTV, in 2017 before moving exclusively to CraveTV.

Elevation Pictures will distribute the film internationally and is planning a special theatrical release in Canada next year.
