Marina Cordoni Entertainment (MCE) has inked a deal with Brett and Jason Butler to develop and produce three feature films under the new production banner BroCo Pictures.

The Butler brothers previously worked with Marina Cordoni on action-comedy feature film First Round Down, which shot in Toronto and Hamilton in October and November 2015. The film is set to make its world premiere at the Atlantic Film Festival and is being distributed in North America by Unobstructed View (formerly Video Services Corp).

Under the new deal, Brett and Jason Butler will write, produce and direct three films over the next five years, with Cordoni producing. One of those projects, detective-driven comedy Purgatory Dick, is currently in the packaging stage.

The Butler brothers will produce the three films through their Toronto-based indie prodco Substance Production. The company’s previous credits include 2013 dark dramady Mourning Has Broken and 2007 comedy Confusions of an Unmarried Couple.

First Round Down stars Dylan Bruce, Rachel Wilson, Rob Ramsay, Kristian Bruun, Peter MacNeill and John Kapelos.
