Production underway on ‘The Hungry’

The feature film from director Robin Aubert is produced by Montreal's La Maison de Prod.

Production is underway on The Hungry (camera filming Les Affamés), the latest film from director Robin Aubert (2005’s Saints-Martyrs-des-Damnés).

The film follows a group of survivors who must flee their village when their families, friends and neighbours develop a hunger for human flesh. The film is currently shooting in the Centre-du-Québec region in villages near Ham-Nord and Saint-Adrien, with production expected to wrap at the end of September.

The Hungry is produced by Montreal-based La Maison de Prod, which co-produced Denis Cote’s 2013 feature Vic and Flo Saw a Bear with Metafilms.

Marc-André Grondin (Goon, The Imposter) and Monia Chokri (Heartbeats, Endorphin) star in the film, alongside Micheline Lanctôt (Boundaries), Brigitte Poupart (Monsieur Lazhar), Marie-Ginette Guay (On the Road) and Robert Brouillette (The Rocket: The Legend of Rocket Richard).

The Hungry is produced by La Maison founder Stephanie Morissette, with the financial participation of Telefilm Canada, SODEC and the Harold Greenberg Fund. Entertainment One subsidiary Lest Films Christal will distribute the film in Quebec in 2017.
