eOne grows Ben & Holly’s licensing plans in Brazil

The new consumer products partnerships follow Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom's debut on Brazil's TV Cultura.

Entertainment One (eOne) has announced the first Brazilian licensing partners for its preschool series Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom, which recently launched on Brazil’s free-to-air broadcaster TV Cultura.

The new partnerships come as the producer and distributor continues to expand the animated show’s global reach.

Licensees Pifer and Regina are on-board for partyware inspired by the series, with decorations and accessories set to launch later this year. Panini Brasil is also new to the consumer products program and will debut a line of collectible stickers and trading cards in February 2017. eOne has announced that costume characters are also currently in development.

In an effort to further engage Brazilian fans, eOne has launched a localized Facebook page and YouTube channel for the property.

eOne’s licensing agent in the territory, Exim, signed the brand’s first partners and also represents Peppa Pig in Brazil. Peppa Pig has seen significant growth recently, with a crop of new licensees in the U.S. and Australia.

eOne has also seen growth as its shares were given a lift following speculation that New York-based private equity firm KKR & Co would make an offer for the company. Earlier in August, eOne rejected a $1.76-billion proposal from UK-based ITV, saying the offer undervalued the company and its prospects.
