Telefilm has invested nearly $1.4 million to produce three French-language features, including a new feature from The Cut director Geneviève Dulude-De Celles.
Dulude-De Celles’ Pour Toujours, produced by Montreal-based Colonelle Films, received $430,000. The investment follows the director’s success with her 2014 short The Cut, which won the short film jury prize at Sundance and was nominated for best live-action short at the Canadian Screen Awards in 2015. That same year, Dulude-De Celles signed on to write and direct the feature adaptation of Stacey May Fowles’ novel Infidelity.
Sophie Dupuis’ Toujours Ensembles also received $430,000 in this latest round of Telefilm funding. The thriller is produced by Bravo Charlie and will be distributed by FunFilm Distribution
Marc Bisaillon received $500,000 for L’Amour. The drama is produced by Les Films Camera Oscura and will be distributed by Filmoption International.
