Rogers Media’s City channel has announced the season-two return date for Between, as well as a new digital aftershow that will air live on Citytv.com following the broadcast.
The new season (6 x 60 minutes) of the Don Carmody Television and Mulmur Feed Company series will debut on City on Thursday, June 30 at 8 p.m. Episodes will then become available via shomi the day after they air on City.
The 30-minute after-show, Inside Between, is hosted by Jim Watson (who played a character in season one) and produced by Innovate by Day. This is not the first after show for a Rogers series, as the The Project: Guatemala was also followed by a 30-minute, live post-show series.
As well, a mini-web-series (6 x 2 minutes) which acts as a prequel to the second season, will be released on Friday, June 23.
Returning cast members Jennette McCurdy (iCarly), Jesse Carere (Finding Carter), Shailyn Pierre-Dixon (The Book of Negroes) and Justin Kelly (Degrassi: The Next Generation) are joined by newcomers Steven Grayhm and Mercedes Morris.
Between is executive produced by Don Carmody, David Cormican, Michael McGowan, and Elevation Pictures’ Naveen Prasad. Sam Egan (The Listener, Continuum) is showrunner on season two of the series, with Michael McGowan and Rick Bota each directing three episodes.
Between was the highest-rated Canadian original on City in 2015, with season one of the show drawing an average audience of 374,600 (according to 2+ AMA information from Numeris, based on 3+ airings).
