Sinking Ship Entertainment’s Odd Squad and 9 Story Media’s Peg + Cat have snagged awards at the Daytime Creative Arts Emmys, with Sinking Ship picking up four awards and 9 Story collecting two.
Odd Squad, produced with the Fred Rogers Company, converted nine nominations into four prizes, garnering awards for Outstanding Writing in a Children’s or Pre-School Children’s series, Outstanding Directing in a Children’s or Pre-school Children’s series, Outstanding Costume Design/Styling and Outstanding Hairstyling. The show also picked up two awards at last year’s ceremony, taking home prizes for Outstanding Directing in a Children’s or Pre-School Children’s series and Outstanding Hairstylist.
Peg + Cat, meanwhile, won awards for Outstanding Writing in a Pre-School Animated program, and Outstanding Music Direction and Composition.
Elsewhere, Felix and Paul Studios won the prize for Outstanding Interactive Media – Original Daytime Program or Series for its VR experience Au cœur de la boîte de Kurios (“Inside the Box of Kurios”).
This year’s ceremony was the 43rd edition of the Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, and took place at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel and Suites in L.A. on Friday, April 29.
Correction: An earlier version of this story stated that Sinking Ship Entertainment’s Odd Squad had won two Daytime Creative Arts Emmys when in fact it won four. Playback regrets the error.
