The Quebecor Fund has named the recipients in its latest round of funding, with three film projects receiving a combined total of $644,000 through the Event and Film Production Assistance Program.
The fund declined to break down the spend for Playback, but the list includes Attraction Images’ coming-of-age story Pieds nus dans l’aube, distributed by Les Films Seville. The film is written and directed by Francis Leclerc and co-written by Fred Pellerin.
C’est le cœur qui meurt en dernier from producer Forum Films and distributor Les Films Christal also received a portion of the $644,000. The film – a comedy-drama about Alzheimer’s disease and family – is directed by Alexis Durand-Brault and adapted from a novel of the same name by Robert Lalonde.
The third film project chosen was T.A.3 from producer A Média and distributor Les Films Séville. The feature tells the story of a faithful wife who decides to try a threesome to get herself out of a life rut.
The Event and Film Production Assistance Program was set up in January 2011 and this latest round of funding was its eleventh in total.
