Marie McCann and Drew Mullin have joined Kids’ CBC as executives in charge of production for children’s content, it was announced Monday.
The two will report directly to Martin Markle, senior director of children’s content for CBC Television. Markle joined CBC near the end of September to replace Kim Wilson, who exited the pubcaster in April.
For the past two decades, Mullin has created a number of children’s media, performing arts programs and commercials. He
has co-developed and directed more than a dozen multi-platform series for TVO, and worked with the broadcaster to help develop its live programming block.
The hire is a return to the pubcaster for McCann, who held the same role from 2007 to 2012. She previously lead TVO’s preschool team, where she led the development of programs such as Gisele’s Big Backyard and Kids’ Canada. She also penned the children’s book Larry the Dromedary: in the Zohar Sand.
