Production wraps on Operation Insanity

The comedy feature, produced by CCI Entertainment, is the first theatrical production to emerge from Corus and Telefilm's Family Feature Production Fund.

60bbd0f8-af4f-4c93-9f71-073a270a367bProduction has wrapped on Operation Insanity (working title), the first feature film to emerge from Corus Entertainment and Telefilm’s Family Feature Production Fund.

The comedy feature, which is set for release in 2016, is produced by Toronto-based CCI Entertainment and directed by Erik Canuel (19-2, Flashpoint). The film is based on a screenplay written by Jeffrey Alan Schechter (Overruled!) and will be distributed by theatrically in Canada by Elevation Pictures.

Starring James Caan (The Godfather, Misery), Dylan Everett (Degrassi: The Next Generation, Wingin’ It), the film tells the story of a teenager who teams up with his grandfather to save the girl of his dreams.

The comedy is produced by Arnie Zipursky (Iron Road) and Ronald J. Gilbert (The Moth Diaries), and is executive produced by CCI’s Charles Falzon, Jeff Sackman of TAJJ Media, Noah Segal of Elevation and Zipursky.

The Family Feature Production Fund was established in June 2013, with the aim of contributing financing to two live-action, English-language family films each year. At the time the project was announced, Corus and Telefilm said the fund would support productions with budgets between $3.5 million and $5 million.

Funding is contributed by both Corus and Telefilm, with Corus providing a broadcast commitment and marketing support for the selected projects via its family and film channels, including Movie Central, YTV, Teletoon, the Disney Channel, ABC Spark and CMT.
