Vancouver’s Brightlight Pictures has inked a five film sales agency deal with L.A.-based Voltage Pictures.
The three-year, non-exclusive sales agency deal will see Brightlight and Voltage partner again after the pair collaborated in 2012 on Robert Redford-starrer The Company You Keep.
The first project Voltage will be handling the sales rights to is Colossal, a Spain/Canada copro written and directed by Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes). Starring Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis, the feature is set to go into production in Vancouver this fall. The feature will be produced by Brightlight president Shawn Williamson and Nahikari Ipiña of Sayaka Productions.
Voltage Pictures, led by president Nic Chartier, has previous production credits on Dallas Buyers Club, The Hurt Locker and The Zero Theorem.
“Knowing Nic for as long as I have, I look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts. Voltage has shown itself to be one of the leading international sales outfits and we are excited to have them representing our productions,” said Williamson in a statement announcing the partnership.
