Hamilton-based indie CHCH has acquired the Canadian broadcast rights to Emily Andras’ drama Wynonna Earp.

The 13 x 60-minute series from Seven24 Films is set to premiere on the Channel Zero station on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 10 p.m. Currently in production in Calgary, Wynonna Earp is based on an IDW Publishing comic from U.S. comic book writer Beau Smith. Production on the show began Sept. 14.

The TV series was developed by Andras, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Jordy Randall and Tom Cox of Seven24 are also executive producers on the series, alongside producer Brian Dennis.

IDW Entertainment is handling distribution on the series, which was picked up by Syfy in the U.S. in July.

The series stars Melanie Scrofano (Gangland Undercover) as Wynonna Earp, Tim Rozon (Being Human) as con-artist Doc Holiday, as well as Shamier Anderson (Defiance) and Dominique Provost-Chalkley (Avengers: Age of Ultron).
