Fresh off promoting Laura Clunie to VP of entertainment, Toronto-headquartered Spin Master has once again mined in-house talent to fill senior executive roles within the division.
Patricia Burns (pictured) has been tapped as senior director of production and supervising producer, while Courtney Sanford is now the director of the recently launched SpindoTV digital platform.
Burns joined Spin Master Entertainment in 2013 to produce preschool series PAW Patrol. She previously worked as VP of production and supervising producer at Nelvana, where she led production teams and built partnerships with Asian, European and North American animation companies. She will be based in Toronto.
Sanford, meanwhile, who will be based out of Spin Master’s L.A. office, started with Spin Master Entertainment in 2012 and has produced 52 eps of Japanese co-pro Tenkai Knights. He will now head up all production and creative for SpindoTV. His remit spans 15 years’ experience in the kids entertainment business, including an executive role Nick and content creation with Disney Channel.
Today’s news comes less than two months after Spin Master reported nearly a 20% increase in Q2 revenues, largely thanks to its girls and preschool segment. That also happened to be its first quarter as a publicly traded company.
