The pubcaster has also hired former Shaw Media digital programming manager Zach Feldberg.

It has also hired former Shaw Media digital programmer Zach Feldberg, who becomes the “executive in charge of production, digital originals.” He will work with the scripted and unscripted teams on CBC’s digital original strategy across all genres.

Markle will oversee the development and production of all children’s content at Kids CBC. Since Wilson’s departure, the department has been led by CBC programming GM Sally Catto. The hire is a return to the CBC for Markle, who worked at the pubcaster from 2003 to 2006 as executive in charge of production for the children’s and youth department at CBC Television, where he evaluated pitches and oversaw original comedic youth programming from development to delivery.

He has also served as executive in charge of production at Canwest Broadcasting, across Slice, TVtropolis and E!

As an independent producer (through his company Markle Productions), he’s completed projects for Comedy Central and the original series JiggiJump, which currently airs on Kids’ CBC.
