The Montreal International Documentary Festival (RIDM) and Doc Circuit Montreal (DCM) have appointed Sarah Spring (pictured) as board chair, effective immediately.

Spring replaces Mila Aung-Thwin – chair of RIDM and DCM since 2010 – as the fourth chairperson since RIDM’s founding in 1998.

She previously served as the co-president of the Documentary Organization of Quebec, and is the co-founder of Parabola Films, a boutique prodco specializing in innovative, feature-length documentaries.

Working alongside international filmmakers, she has produced a raft of feature films for broadcast and festival circuits, including Nuestro Monte Luna, Ariel, Jeppe on a Friday, St. Henri the 26th of August, Roadsworth:Crossing The Line and H2Oil.

The 18th annual RIDM will be held from Nov. 12 to 22. The professional market, meanwhile, will take place from Nov. 14 to 18.
