Suraj Gohill named Odyssey Media president

The hire comes as the Vancouver-based prodco looks to expand its international operations.

bio_surajOdyssey Media has named Suraj Gohill as the company’s new president as the Vancouver-based prodco looks to expand its international operations.

Gohill’s career in the entertainment industry spans more than 20 years and has seen him involved in the financing of nearly 100 films and corporate slates. In his previous roles, Suraj has served as CFO at L.A.-based prodco Ivanhoe Pictures and SVP at U.S. financial holding company CIT.

Aside from its base in Vancouver, the company also has offices in Los Angeles. In a release announcing Gohill’s hire, Odyssey Media indicated the company is aiming to expand into theatrical films, as well as increase its international copro activity and its presence in the U.S. weekly television market.

In May, Odyssey announced the hire of former Syfy executive Karen O’Hara to the position of executive in charge of U.S. East Coast production and development.
