VIFF launches new program for digi-content buyers and sellers

The Vancouver festival has partnered with the Canadian Media Production Association on an online buyer marketplace.

The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) has partnered with the BC Producers’ Branch of the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA-BC) on an online buyer marketplace called VIFF Industry Exchange.

The new program, intended as a hub for buyers of digital online content, will feature as part of the 30th VIFF Industry Conference, which runs Sept. 29 to Oct. 3, 2015.

Including meetings with commissioning editors, participating buyers and advertisers, “TED-style” presentations and buyer briefings, the program will emphasize the importance of growing the local creative economy, VIFF said in a statement.

“With the recent launch of a multitude of multi-channel networks and premium on-line networks in North America over the past few years, the demand for digital online content has grown substantially and created a new eco-system, said Jacqueline Dupuis, executive director, VIFF Society.

All the sessions included in the VIFF Industry Exchange will be held at the Rogers Industry Centre in Vancouver.
