CBBC orders more Hank Zipzer

The British children's channel has ordered a third season of the series, produced by DHX Media in association with Walker Productions and Kindle Entertainment.

Kids are going to be seeing more of Hank Zipzer, as CBBC has commissioned DHX Media, Walker Productions and Kindle Entertainment to produce a third season of the live-action comedy series that stars Henry Winkler.

The series, which is supported by Screen Yorkshire’s Yorkshire Content Fund, is already due to return to CBBC next month in its second season. Last fall, DHX signed deals with multiple broadcasters to take all 26 x 30-minute episodes of Hank Zipzer around the globe.

The show is based on the bestselling book series, Hank Zipzer: The World’s Greatest Underachiever, which is co-written by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver and published by Walker Books. It follows 14-year-old Hank Zipzer, a smart and resourceful boy with dyslexia who goes on mischievous adventures. Winkler, who says the Hank Zipzer series is inspired by his own experiences as a kid, will return to play the popular music teacher, Mr. Rock.
