postfactory_peopleThe SIM Group has merged with independent New York City post-production house Post Factory NY, the companies announced Thursday.

Post Factory NY has two Manhattan facilities spanning a combined 38,000 square feet. Between the two facilities, the company has 60 editing suites, two colour grading facilities, a DI theatre and post-production sound facilities. Post Factory NY’s current roster of clients include HBO, Fox, ITV, Paramount and a number of independent producers.

Post Factory NY will continue to operate under its current name and management. The move allows the New York company to expanded its resources and geographical reach via SIM Group’s other companies, including SIM Digital, PS Production Services, Chainsaw, Pixel Underground, Bling Digital and Tattersall Sound & Picture. The move also grows SIM Group’s presence on the U.S. East Coast, following the company’s recent opening of a Bling Digital outpost in Brooklyn.

“We wanted a path to service our clients on the West Coast, without diminishing our presence at home in New York. As an independent company, that’s challenging. Now, we have not only gained a West Coast presence, but also an international presence. That will enable us to better service our clients working around the world. It’s fantastic,” said Post Factory founding partner and CEO Alex Halpern in a statement.
