Heydon is working with Canadian writer Mitch Gabourie to adapt the novel into a limited-run television series. The book is a loosely fictionalized account of the author’s experience in The Stopwatch Gang, a notorious group of bank robbers active in the 1970s who were on the FBI’s most-wanted list for over eight years.

While no broadcaster is attached to the project as of yet, Heydon noted the commercial appeal of the project has piqued the interest of many.

“We are talking to all the Canadian broadcasters at this point. Since this is an epic story and a commercial project everyone we speak with is interested. There are a number of high-profile Canadians working in Hollywood interested in playing these roles,” Heydon told Playback Daily.

Last week, Heydon announced he optioned The Hellfire Club through his shingle Ecstasy Films (a separate company from Rob Heydon Holdings Inc.) The novel from American author Peter Straub is also being adapted into a limited-run television series.

“We are ramping up development as most of our development slate moves into production. Later this summer and into the fall we go to camera with a few exciting projects,” Heydon said.
