Blue Ant International picks up James Reed's Jago: A Life Underwater, and more deals of the week.

Blue Ant International has announced the acquisition of James Reed-directed documentary Jago: A Life Underwater. The documentary, which is available in a 60-minute or 90-minute HD  or 4K cut, follows an 80-year-old man living in a hut on the Sulawesi Sea. The man struggles to walk, but swims like a fish and can remain submerged for minutes at a time in order to catch his prey. Reed has an extensive portfolio of projects focused on wildlife, nature and natural history, including the Disneynature films Chimpanzees, Monkey Kingdom and Bears. 

CraveTV

CraveTV has announced the third season of the supernatural slacker comedy Deadbeat will stream on the SVOD service. Deadbeat is a Hulu original series, and streams exclusively on CraveTV in Canada. The 30-minute show, which stars Canadian Tyler Labine as pothead Kevin “Pac” Pacalioglu, first began streaming on CraveTV in April. The release date for the third season on CraveTV has not yet been annouced. Lionsgate Television produces the show with Dakota Pictures and Brad Pitt-owned prodco Plan B Entertainment.

Entertainment One Licensing

eOne Licensing has closed a deal with U.S. pop culture retail chain Hot Topic on a merchandise range for its teen brand Skelanimals. The deal will include products from brands such as Lounge Fly (bags, wallets, jewelry), Goodie Two Sleeves (t-shirts), Iron Fist (fashion apparel) and Toynami (plush), which will be available in Hot Topic stores and online from the third week of July. Additionally, paid media-supported comedy shorts will be launched on YouTube in July.

DHX Media

DHX Media’s animated action series Dr. Dimensionpants has been picked up by Hulu in the U.S. Read more about the deal here.

9 Story Media Group

9 Story Media Group has licensed the second season of preschool series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood to Disney Junior Latin America. For more details on the deal, see here.
