Deals: Tricon, DHX, 9 Story Media

Tricon announces U.S. digital sales for comedies, and more of this week's deals.

Tricon Films and Television

On the heels of its partnership with Levity Productions, Toronto-based distribution and production company Tricon Films and Television has announced the U.S. digital sale of two comedies. The two, hour-long original comedy specials, both from The Levity Entertainment Group, have been made available on iTunes, PlayStation®Store, Google Play, Amazon and Xbox. The first, Erik Rivera: I’m No Expert, stars Rivera covering a range of comic ground including fatherhood and relationships, to extended family. The other, Gina Brillon: Pacifically Speaking, is a one-hour standup set from up-and-coming comic Gina Brillon.

DHX Brands

DHX Brands has announced a deal with HarperCollins Children’s Books, giving them the exclusive global rights to the Ragdoll Productions pre-school series Twirlywoos. Included in the deal, announced earlier this week, are all physical and digital publishing platforms such as preschool board books, activity books, annuals, eBooks and audio.

9 Story Media Group

Cartoons Get Ace (pictured) from Galaxy Pop and Nerds and Monsters from Slap Happy Cartoons have been licensed by 9 Story Media Group to Globosat’s Gloob in Brazil. The animations are scheduled to air on the Brazilian Portuguese network in January of next year.
