French-Canadians are to hear “vous êtes viré!” (“You’re fired!”) more often after Montreal-based TV producer Media Ranch acquired the Quebec format rights to The Apprentice from United Artists Media Group.
Media Ranch has partnered with brand integration agency ZAD Communications to secure brand partners for the local version of the popular reality TV show now in the works.
The U.S. version of The Apprentice, now in its 14th season, already airs in Canada, and local formats of the TV series created by Mark Burnett are broadcast in 25 territories around the world.
The Quebec version was unveiled by Media Ranch president Sophie Ferron (pictured) and Patrice Choghi, VP of international strategy and business development at United Artists Media Group.
Media Ranch earlier created the first adaptation of Norwegian format Dining with the Enemy for TV5 Quebec, and acquired the rights to remake the British TV series Life in The Kitchen for Canada.
