Big Bad Boo gets TVO deal for new preschool series

Vancouver-based Big Bad Boo Studios has inked a deal with TVO to develop 16 Hudson. The new preschool series celebrates cultural diversity in a charming and busy city neighborhood.

Based on Big Bad Boo’s miniseries Lili & Lola, which follows two silly sisters who live in a small apartment in a big city, 16 Hudson‘s seven-minute eps feature an expanded world of characters and locations.

The series plans to showcase international ethnic holidays and introduce young kids to cultural nuances through things like music and national cuisines. Along with putting the spotlight on different cultures, 16 Hudson will also talk about the challenges of being different.

The series is slated for production later this year and will be supported by a web and app series.

16 Hudson is Big Bad Boo Studios’s fifth original production. Its animated series  Mixed Nutz and 1001 Nights  air in more than countries 80 on broadcasters including Teletoon, Disney, CBC, Al Jazeera Children’s Channel, Discovery Kids, PBS and Globo TV.
