The Toronto International Film Festival is taking another step from the cinema to the internet.
The film festival has pacted with the New York Times on the prestigious newspaper’s TimesTalks series of conversations with people of note streamed online.
The first TimesTalks+TIFF event is set for Feb. 16 in Los Angeles when New York Times culture reporter Cara Buckley will interview The Imitation Game stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley.
The Imitation Game won the People’s Choice award at the 2014 Toronto film festival ahead of securing a raft of nominations for the 2015 Academy Awards.
The TimesTalks+TIFF series is part of Toronto’s strategy to place more of its programming in international centres.
