Double Dutch does Daniel Dolphin deal

Toronto and LA-based Double Dutch International has picked up the international rights to the Canadian production Daniel Dolphin and The Horn of the Sea Dragon.

The film is based on characters from the novel series The Dolphin, which has sold over 14 million copies worldwide and been translated into 40 languages. Daniel Dolphin and The Horn of the Sea Dragon will be produced by Sean Buckley of Toronto-based Buck Productions and Carmen Forsberg of Vancouver-based Silverlight Entertainment, with Adam Mars directing. The film has a budget of US$20 million.

The film is currently in pre-production, with casting to be announced shortly. Double Dutch International will bring the project to the Berlin European Film Market, which runs from Feb. 5 to Feb. 12.
