Production has started on season two of the family drama When Calls The Heart, which will shoot in Vancouver and Langley, B.C. through to March 5.
Like the first season of the series, When Calls The Heart will air on the Hallmark Channel in the U.S. and on Super Channel in Canada.
The second season of the series will include 10 hour-long episodes. When Calls The Heart is based on a best selling Canadian book series from Janette Oke, and stars Erin Krakow, Daniel Lissing and Lori Loughlin. Jack Wagner will also join the cast of the series as a regular for season two following a guest star appearance on season one.
Financing for the season two of the series includes licence fees from Hallmark Channel and Super Channel, along with tax credits.
When Calls The Heart is produced by Vicki Sotheran and Greg Malcolm and executive produced by Brad Krevoy, Brian Bird, Michael Landon Jr., Michael Shepard and Eric Jarboe. Writers on season two include co-showrunners Tony Blake and Robin Bernheim, Andrea Stevens, Neal Dobrofsky, Tippi Dobrofsky and Derek Thompson. The directors on the series are Michael Rojl, Martin Wood and Neill Fearnley, who also serves as co-executive producer.
