Toronto-based Portfolio Entertainment has secured new broadcast and in-flight deals for its animated series The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That! and its companion one-hour holiday special.

In Portugal, RTP and SIC K have acquired all 60 half-hour eps of the Dr. Seuss toon, as well as one-hour special The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About Christmas! Germany’s KiKA, meanwhile, picked up an additional 20 half-hour eps, and Singapore Airlines has licensed 10 eps for its in-flight entertainment service.

Sold into 110 countries and counting, The Cat In The Hat Knows A Lot About That! is produced by Portfolio Entertainment and UK-based Collingwood O’Hare Productions, in association with Dr. Seuss Enterprises, Random House Children’s Entertainment, Treehouse (Canada) and PBS KIDS (US).

On a preschool sales roll, distribution unit Portfolio International has also licensed Doki to five new markets, having secured deals for the first 26 eps  with e.tv (South Africa), Frisbee (Italy), Knowledge Network (Canada), TRT Kids (Turkey) and TrueVisions’ Spark Channel (Thailand). Spark and Israel’s HOP! also scooped up three half-hour specials.

Based on the Discovery Kids mascot of the same name, Doki was commissioned by Discovery Kids Latin America and premiered on the net in April 2013.
