Entertainment One is using its Hopscotch Films base in Australia to branch out into TV development and production down under.

eOne has tapped Jude Troy, managing director – home entertainment, to also become EVP of TV development and acquisitions, Australia/New Zealand.

In her expanded role, Troy will generate production opportunities for eOne Television as the Canadian producer/distributor continues to build out its international film and TV production and sales network.

Based in Sydney, Hopscotch Films has focused on releasing foreign indie titles and local Australian content.

The push into Oz TV dramas comes as eOne continues to make scripted TV fare for international exploitation.

The Australian expansion was announced by Troy Lum, managing director, eOne Films Australia, and eOne Television CEO John Morayniss.
