The National Screen Institute and the National Film Board have partnered for the 2014 and 2015 editions of the NSI Aboriginal Documentary course.
Through the partnership, filmmakers who are participating in the NSI Aboriginal Documentary Course will go to the NFB’s Montreal headquarters to receive mentorship through the post-production process on the 10-minute docs they shoot through the program.
The completed projects will then be streamed on NFB.ca after their initial streaming window on aptn.ca. The finished documentaries also air nationally on APTN. Participants in the program also travel to the HotDocs festival in Toronto, where they are introduced to industry players and attend screenings and conference sessions.
The partnership between the NFB and NSI for the doc course will be in place for at least two years. Applications for the next round of the program will be open until 4:30 p.m. CT on Nov. 7.
