New broadcast deals for Peg + Cat

Feisty Peg and her sidekick Cat are set to expand their global adventures. Toronto-based 9 Story Entertainment has secured several new broadcast deals for the math-based preschool series Peg + Catwhich stars the two characters.

The animated series has been sold to TFO (French-speaking Ontario), Télé-Québec (Quebec), RTP (Portugal) and MBC Kids (UAE).

Peg + Cat (80 x 12 minutes) first debuted on PBS KIDS in the fall of 2013. Created by animator, creative director and kids writer Jennifer Oxley (Little Bill, The Wonder Pets!) and Billy Aronson (Postcards from Buster), the series is coproduced by 9 Story and The Fred Rogers Company for the U.S. pubcaster. 9 Story holds the international distribution rights for the series.

It’s also been licensed to Treehouse (Canada), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), TVNZ (New Zealand),  Canal+ Family (France and French-speaking territories), CSC (the UK), TG4 (Ireland) Super RTL (Germany and German-speaking Europe), ABC TV Australia, Disney (Korea), HOP (Israel), Mini-Mini (Poland), E-Junior (UAE) and Zee Learn (India).

In other 9 Story news, the company recently appointed Natalie Dumoulin to the newly created position of VP creative affairs, to oversee the company’s sourcing and development of live-action and animated properties.
