The Academy of Canadians in Sports and Entertainment – Los Angeles (ACISE-LA) have created a new award to honour Canadian talent in entertainment and sports.
Through the awards, the organization will celebrate the achievements of Canadian talent who have excelled in television shows that are broadcasters in the U.S. The awards will also honor Canadian athletes who play on teams in major sport franchises, including the NFL, NBA, MLB and MLS.
The first Golden Maple Awards will be given out in June 2015 in Los Angeles.
Additional venue details and award categories will be announced at a late date, with voting to be conducted by ACISE-LA members by early 2015.
