California-based VFX studio Atomic Fiction is opening a subsidiary in Greater Montreal that it expects will eventually employ 100 people, the company announced Monday.
Atomic Fiction has committed to a six-year lease on a custom-designed office located off Place des Arts in downtown Montreal, and plan to add about 100 employees at the studio over the next three years. The company is considering the Montreal location a flagship studio and not a satellite location, Kevin Baillie, co-founder of Atomic Studios, said in a statement.
The first project handled by the Montreal office will be The Walk, a film coproduced, co-written and directed by Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future I, II & III, Flight, Forrest Gump).
