Be For Films acquires world sales rights to Corbo

Belgium-based sales agents Be For Films has picked up the world sales rights to the Canadian FLQ drama Corbo ahead of its world premiere in Toronto.

Mathieu Denis’ historical take on FLQ youth cells in the 1960s will debut as part of the Discovery section.

The deal was brokered between Pamela Leu, the long-time Films Distribution sales agent who launched Be For Films in April 2014 and Felize Frappier from Max Film Media, who produced Corbo.

Christian Larouche’s Christal Films has already picked up the Canadian rights for Corbo.

In other Canadian market news, U.S. specialty film distributor Kino Lorber has inked a Canadian output deal with Video Services Corp.

VSC also handles Magnolia Pictures titles in Canada.
