Francois Letourneau takes lead in Paul in Quebec adaptation

Francois Bouvier’s Paul in Quebec, a live action adaptation of the popular cartoon by Michel Rabagliati, has its lead.

François Létourneau is to play the titular character of Paul, and Gilbert Sicotte will fill the role of his stepfather, Roland, whose terminal illness has an impact on his entire family.

Paul in Quebec, which will start shooting on Sept. 4 in Quebec City, is based on a script co-written by Rabagliati and Bouvier.

The ensemble cast includes Julie Le Breton, Louise Portal, Brigitte Lafleur, Myriam Leblanc, Patrice Robitaille, Mathieu Quesnel and Shanti Corbeil-Gauvreau.

Paul in Quebec is produced by Caramel Films and Associated Producers, while Remstar Films will release the picture in Quebec in August 2015.

André Rouleau, Valerie d’Auteuil, Nathalie Brigitte Bustos and Karine Vanasse share the producer credits.
